'The Bachelorette' Insider: Week 3
KITV4 would like to introduce you to our in-house expert on "The Bachelorette," Lauren Wang. During the day, she works in our sales department, but on the nights when "The Bachelorette" is airing, she is glued to the television set. She will keep you up-to-date with the show and give you some inside scoops on what is happening with the Bachelorette herself, Emily Maynard.
Goodbye to Tony Pieper - 5/31/2012
I had the pleasure of talking to eliminated bachelor, Tony Pieper, this morning.
Tony is the bachelor that Emily sent home so that he could be with his son. I wasn’t sure how genuine he was, you know -- if he was playing the kid card as a pity thing so that Emily would keep him around.
But, I was so wrong. Tony was seriously a down-to-earth, nice guy. He really did miss his son and wanted nothing more than to just be with him again. He said that if Emily didn’t kick him off then he would have left on his own soon after.
Tony applied to be on "The Bachelor" on a whim and actually forgot that he even tried out! He got a phone call from the casting producers months after he applied and he was confused about what they were talking about. He then met with the producers and decided to go ahead and go for it.
Tony decided to leave his son and go on the show because he was thinking about the end result -- which could be falling in love and starting a family. He didn’t think that he would miss his son as much as he did but he is so happy to be back with him. He said a part of his heart is back (seriously, so sweet).
Tony was only on the show for three weeks, but in those three weeks, he said that Emily really is as sweet as she is portrayed and that she is a genuine and caring person. Going into it, he thought, this girl can’t be that nice BUT she really is (that’s so great to hear, TEAM EMILY)!
Tony liked all the guys on the show and was particularly close to Sean and Doug (he’s rooting for both of them). He even said that he liked Kalon (really? I didn’t think anyone did).
But, he said looking at the episodes now, he is seeing a different side of Kalon, and out of all of the guys, he might be the one in it for the wrong reasons (duh).
