Lauren J. Wang is our in-house expert on everything to do with "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette." And now, she's changing gears and following the "Bachelor Pad." She will keep you up-to-date with the show and give you some inside scoops on what is happening from behind the scenes.
Week 1 Recap - 7/24/2012
Last night’s premiere of "The Bachelor Pad" was unforgettable! The drama started in the house from the moment the first stilettoes stepped in the mansion!
The introductions were fun and entertaining. We got to see what some of the ex-bachelors and bachelorettes have been doing since their seasons ended and we also got a first look at the super fans! I loved how they showed trash talking right from the beginning too. Jaclyn and Rachel were talking about Blakely as soon as came into the house (that wasn’t planned or anything, MEOW). The "super fans" were not welcomed well at all. As Rachel said, "They didn’t earn their spot. They didn’t get dumped on national television." Paige seemed the most normal out of the super fans though and she got along well with Reid (couple in the making, I think YES)!
After the introductions, they all got right to it… drinking that is. Ed was the first one to get bombed and boy was he entertaining. Chris Harrison told them about their first competition… falling for love. Everyone had to partner up and one of the biggest surprise team that was formed… Blakely and Chris. Blakely is super competitive, as we remember from Ben’s season and she said she wanted to partner up with Chris because he was cute and athletic (uh, I guess she didn’t watch Emily’s season. REMINDER: He can’t dance and he is NOT athletic). It was interesting to see everyone pick out their partner and their reasons behind it. And, poor Jaclyn, even though I don’t like her, she ended up with the wasted Ed (hahaha).
So the next morning, everyone was dressed in their "sporting attire" and ready for the first competition of "The Bachelor Pad." Falling for love consisted of hearts hoisted up in the air (each couple had to sit in the hearts) and every few minutes the hearts would be tilted. The objective of the game was to not fall off. Everyone had different strategies, whether it was holding on to each other or the edge of the hearts, etc. After about four minutes, the first couple fell… Erica and Nick. This meant that they already have a vote against them to go home. The winner’s ended up being the "super fans." This did not sit well in the house!
The hooking up began that night, of course. And who were the first two people to hook up? Chris and Jamie (yes, awkward kissing girl from Ben’s season). Blakely was not happy with this (don’t mess with her partner) and barged in on them during their oh so romantic moment. Chris and Jamie did not seem happy that Blakey was ruining their special time. Blakely said she felt betrayed by Chris and hurt. Uh, what? Exactly, the craziness has begun.
Paige, a super fan and Reid seemed to hit it off. Unfortunately, it was either going to be her or Erica, out of the females that could possibly be sent home. Alliances were already building so Reid tried to do everything to save her (how sweet).
The Rose Ceremony was up and everyone was holding their breath. How it works is the men vote one female off and the females vote one male off. And who got the boot first? The super fans of course! Paige and SWAT guy were sent home. They were both clearly disappointed but that’s how the game works. And unfortunately, I think the fans are going to go first (there are only three more left).
This season is going to get more intense each episode. Not only will there be plenty of love triangles but everyone wants to win that $250,000. Monday’s will never be the same. Make sure to tune in next week. Who will go home next? What new alliances will be built? Will any of these ex bachelors and bachelorettes really fall in love? I can’t wait to talk about it all at #bachelorpadhi!
