Early walk-in voting started Monday morning. Registered voters can beat the Election Day crowds by going to early voting locations set up on the Big Island, Oahu, Kauai, and Maui.
The primary election is not until Aug. 9, but Honolulu Hale, along with Kapolei Hale, will be open until Aug. 7 and give voters a chance to cast their ballots.
Voters face one change this year. Unlike past years where paper and electronic voting was available at both locations, only Kapolei Hale will offer electronic voting this season.
The city has experienced problems with the electronic machines in the past. Earlier in July city workers tested the machines, but officials say the machines came back with accurate results and that everything will be in line for voting this year.
