In concurrence with the D-Day anniversary and the 72nd anniversary of the Battle of Midway, the Disabled American Veterans organization is holding their annual state convention this weekend in Honolulu.
The organization helps veterans who are filing claims with the Department of Veterans Affairs and even provides transportation to VA clinics.
The DAV represents 330,000 individuals with active claims with VA.
"We're in support of veterans in every way that we can represent each year about 330,000 individuals and they're active claims within the Department of Veterans Affairs," said Joe Johnston, National Commander of DAV.
The convention's highlight will be a banquet held Saturday.
The organization is all volunteer and is supported by donations.
