Surveillance video shows thieves in a warehouse at Jack Endo Electric, a business out in Mapunapuna.
The crooks are not company employees and were caught on camera ripping off several rolls of copper wiring. It happened last month and an employee says this is not the first time vandals have targeted the place.
Jack Endo Electric has since put in a barb wire fence, but the company says thieves are still coming around and are stealing from nearby businesses as well.
"When you watch them – how they unravel the reel and they tape stuff together, it's like they have construction experience or something," said Steve Endo of Jack Endo Electric.
The company says it hopes these criminals are caught soon. It has already lost thousands of dollars to these crimes.
Two separate copper theft incidents have the Board of Water Supply asking for the public's help in finding some thieves.
The vandals broke into one of the BWS reservoirs twice in one week and stole copper wiring. The first incident happened on Apr. 6 and caused a water outage for about 100 homes in Kalihi Valley.
Vandals then struck the same reservoir on Apr. 11.
Both cases remain under investigation.
