Honolulu City Councilman Ikaika Anderson will introduce a bill Thursday that extends the enforcement of Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell's homeless disrupting bills.
Anderson says Caldwell's bills don't go far enough. Those bills propose making it illegal to lie down on sidewalks or urinate and defecate in public in Waikiki.
"He's [Caldwell] already proposed legislation to address this in Waikiki. I support that. I understand that. But, we are hearing from people from Kaneohe to McCully who are saying, 'What about our communities?'" said Anderson.
Anderson believes the mayor will support the two bills if they reach his desk.
The bills will be heard by the zoning committee Thursday afternoon, a committee that Anderson chairs.
