WATERFRONT. MAP BOX (VO) A FOUR TIME CANCER SURVIVOR WHO IS RUNNING THE ENTIRE áPERIMITERá OF THE UNITED STATES HIT A MAJOR MILESTONE RIGHT HERE IN MAINE TODAY. Horn sounds THAT WAS HELENE NEVILLE LEAVING SCARBOROUGH THIS MORNING, BOUND FOR PORTLAND. SIXTY EIGHT DAYS AGO, NEVILLE LEFT MARATHON FLORIDA, AND TODAY SHE FINISHED THE TWO THOUSAND MILE JOURNEY. IT'S THE THIRD OF FOUR LEGS OF HER INSPIRING MISSION TO RUN THE ENTIRE PERIMITER OF THE U- S, SHE'S ALREADY RUN FROM CALIFORNIA TO FLORIDA, AND VANCOUVER CANADA TO TIJUANA MEXICO. NOW, SHE HAS ONE MORE TO GO. "I just wanted to go out and originally inspire nurses, i'm a nurse, and to be better ambassadors for healthy living, to inspire health in their patients, and it's just so much bigger. I stop and talk to school children, just the general public, and I just try and get everyone to think about health and inspire the next person." NEVILLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH HODGKINS LYMPHOMA IN THE 1990S, AND T- CELL LYMPHOMA JUST TWO YEARS AGO. SHE HAS SURVIVED THREE BRAIN SURGERIES, CHEMOTHERAPY AND RADIATION. THE FINAL LEG OF HER TEN-THOUSAND MILE CHALLENGE IS A THIRTY FIVE HUNDRED MILE RUN FROM EAST COAST TO WEST COAST, SCHEDULED FOR NEXT YEAR.
