Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell gave Oahu "the all-clear" after Tropical Storm Iselle passes, allowing city services like buses and trash pickup to resume Friday.
"People were seeing nice weather, and they were going about their business anyway," said Caldwell.
The mayor's decision comes after the National Weather Service canceled tropical storm warnings for the Big Island, Maui and Oahu. Kauai is the only county where a warning remains.
NWS officials said Iselle was about 120 miles southwest of Honolulu at 3:08 p.m.
