New tonight-- Malnourished Hawaiian monk seals from the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands are getting a second chance at survival. All thanks to The Marine Mammal Center's new Hawaiian monk seal hospital, which opened today near Kailua-Kona. The seals will reach the hospital via the NOAA Research Vessel Hi'ialakai. This $3 point 2 million dollar facility includes two newborn rehabilitation pens and pools, quarantine pen areas and two larger pens and pools for juvenile seals.
