After setting sail from Oahu on Saturday, the Hokule'a celebrates upon the Big Island's shore.
Polynesian Voyaging Canoe's two canoes, Hokule'a and her sister canoe Hikianalia, arrived in Hilo just after Tuesday morning.
The vessels sailed across the Maui Channel, past the northern tip of the Big Island and into Radio Bay in Hilo.
They were greeted by school children and members of the community.
Hokule'a and her crew will remain in Hilo until at least May 24.
