LITTLE CONTRACTIONS TO - I AM FEELING THIS BABY - AND IT IS COMING VERY FAST. Her fourth child came quickly! And with a very unusual delivery! Of course, this all happened on MOTHER'S Day. Emily Price shows us this baby's entrance into the world was a real team effort. 911 what is the location of your emergency? The call came from the master bathroom of this Ankeny home. My wife is pregnant - the water just broke and it seems like she is having the baby NOW. How many minutes apart are the contractions do you know? Like within seconds. On one end - Polk County dispatcher Thomas Heckler. It was my first delivery - I had to remain cool and calm. On the other end - expectant father Kenny Ayers. Basically laid on the floor and the next thing - there was the head. And yeah - it was definitely unexpected. nat sound screaming - do you see? It's coming! It's coming! My thought was - once I seen the head was - basically am I going to have to deliver this? Are they going to get someone here fast enough? He wanted to push the baby back in - I told him no - we are going to have a baby. You gotta have a baby and we're going to push. Is there anyway you can get a towel the baby can lay on when the baby comes out? I was yelling a lot of orders at him - catch the baby get her out! I really had no choice in the matter on this one. Paramedics were still minutes away - and his daughter wasn't waiting. The baby is out - the baby is out. But Kenny and Thomas were going to have to do more. Delivering her was somehow the easy part. Is the baby crying or breathing right now? She is not crying! She is not crying. Can you gently wipe off the baby's mouth and nose? She was laying on the floor and I could see kenny rubbing her back. It felt an eternity for me a long time. We didn't have anything to suck it out of her mouth or anything so I am just kind of trying to tip her over - kind of like baby CPR - and just cough it out herself. It's crying - it's trying to cry. You got it wiped down and it's breathing and crying? Yeah - it's crying. Okay you got a boy or a girl? Girl. Congratulations. Thank you. I'm normally not an emotional person - but that stood out. Today the baby girl they named Stormy... She came out like a storm with a vengeance. ...is healthy and back home. it's going to be an interesting story when she gets older. If he wasn't there I don't know what we would've done. Dispatcher Thomas Heckler and Stormy got to meet last week for the first time. Here's a great shot from their meeting. Heckler got an award from the sheriff for his calm demeanor that day. How did he know exactly what to do? Training. And they have manuals in the computer system that walk them through what to say.
