Three schools were on lockdown in Aliamanu due to a manhunt for two men who robbed the American Savings Bank at the Salt Lake Shopping Center Tuesday morning.
It happened at around 10:30 a.m. Police say they are looking for two armed masked men in their 20s.
"Both suspects fled the bank toward the rear of the shopping center and they scaled the fence to the rear of the shopping center into the neighborhood," said Maj. Lester Hite.
There were some witnesses who saw the robbers and pointed police in that direction.
Police say one of the men had a backpack. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money.
Aliamanu Elementary, Aliamanu Middle and the St. Philomena Early Center were on lockdown, according to the Department of Education and other sources.
The lockdowns were lifted at 12:50 p.m. Aliamanu Elementary and Middle School will be dismissed at their normal times at 2:05 p.m., according to the DOE.
The active search for the robbers ended at around 1:30 p.m.
