Gov. Neil Abercrombie and U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz received an endorsement Wednesday.
The Hawaii Regional Council of Carpenters is throwing its support behind Abercrombie in his bid for re-election.
The union is the largest private sector construction union in the state representing more than 61,000 members.
Abercrombie is facing State Sen. David Ige in the race for Governor.
U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz received an endorsement from former Hawaii Gov. John Waihee.
Waihee says Schatz is a strong leader for Hawaii today and tomorrow. He also cited Schatz's work to secure state funds and strengthen Social Security.
Schatz will face U.S. Rep. Colleen Hanabusa for the congressional seat.
