Memorial day is all about service and sacrifice. Veterans and those who lost their lives in the armed forces were remembered today at the Waikiki natatorium ...originally built as a testament to their bravery. Historians say it was the first time the islands participated in a global event of such magnitude. The event concluded with the traditional ride off of dozens of American Legion motorcyclists. vroom Friends of the Natatorium sponsored the event. Organizers say having the ceremony at the natatorium helps connect the community with the memorial-- in the hopes of reopening the pool that's been closed since 1979.
