A man found his stolen items advertised online, but could a fortune cookie have predicted it?
About $6,400 worth of guns, equipment and a Craftsman tool box were stolen from Waylon Timmerman’s garage.
A fortune cookie message left Timmerman with a little hope -- “Your lost possessions will be found within the month.”
Coincidentally, five days later and on the last day of the month, his brother spotted some of the stolen items on Craigslist, the seller just six miles away from Timmerman’s home.
“Everything that was in his garage was mostly mine,” Timmerman said.
His luck continued. He had the key to his toolbox to prove it was his. Timmerman then called the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies arrested 22-year-old Joey Delaney for a couple of outstanding warrants, as well as burglary.
“The owner is key to identifying his property, and his key was key,” said Sheriff Terry Wagner.
Wagner said they are still trying to recover the rifles that were stolen.
