HONOLULU -- A man who had previously denied robbing a pair of skinny-dipping tourists admitted to the crime and was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Wednesday.

Last August, Lanaki Adric was doing crystal methamphetamine in Mokuleia when he stole the possessions and car of two camping tourists who were swimming nude, prosecutors said.

The woman victim was injured when, despite being naked, she tried to stop Adric from driving away by jumping onto the car.

After denying everything during trial, Adric on Wednesday apologized to the court and the victims. The judge sentenced him to the mandatory 20 years for first-degree robbery and auto theft.
