Three men police said beat a man to death in Waianae last week appeared in court on Friday.

Police charged Dillon Lepolo, Julius Mitchell and Lugavai Moemoe with second-degree murder.

The incident started after an altercation with Lepolo and the murder victim, Roger Haudenshild, according to court documents. Lepolo and Haudenshild got into an argument near Farrington Highway and Old Government Road at about 6:35 p.m. The two started fighting before another person broke it up, the document said.

Lepolo told Haudenshild that he was going to get friends and return to kill him, a witness said.

Lepolo appeared at the Waianae Market, where Haudenshild was, with Moemoe and Mitchell, according to the document. Witness said they saw the men punch kick and stomp on Haudenshild's head. Witnesses said the men told them not to say anything about the attack or the men would kill them too, court documents said.

Haudenshild died at the Waianae Comprehensive Center later that night.

Each man is being held on $100,000 bail.
