Man Sentenced To Prison For AssaultJose Faces Life In Prison In Another CasePOSTED: 3:03 p.m. HST September 5, 2001 HONOLULU -- A man facing a life sentence for murdering an Army pilot was back in court Wednesday on an unrelated charge.
Prosecutors say on Sept. 10, 1997, Bryson Jose punched a co-owner of the Waianae Market in the face.
A jury agreed and convicted Jose of second-degree assault.
At his sentencing, Jose said he was not responsible for the crime. He also asked permission to sing a song, and then withdrew the request.
