Police Looking For Dangerous Parolee
Detectives Say Arthur Birano On Crime Spree
Honolulu police say a man released from prison in February on parole has been on a three-month crime spree.
Arthur Birano, 30 (pictured, right), is wanted in connection with a number of home invasions, car thefts and a drive-by shooting. He was freed from Halawa prison Feb. 15.
Birano is considered armed and dangerous by police.
According to police, Birano is being linked to a home invasion that occurred Wednesday morning at an apartment on Kewalo Street. Police believe that Birano and two other men appoached a couple as they were parking to their car and forced the man to take them to his apartment at gunpoint.
Birano is also suspected of crashing a stolen car in the Ala Moana area May 8 while firing gunshots (pictured, left). Nobody was hurt.
He is also a suspect in at least two home invasion robberies in Kalihi and a drive-by shooting on Kona Street near Ala Moana.

Police say that this is not the first time they have had to conduct a manhunt for Birano.
In 1995, Birano went on a crime spree that included the armed robbery of a gas station and car theft, according to police. Police said that they captured Birano after he crashed a stolen car into a utility pole in Kalihi.
He was serving time for burglary and robbery convictions. Police believe that Birano is driving a red convertible Chevrolet Camaro.
