A four-day search for a missing swimmer in Hilo ended on Thursday with the discovery of her body.

Jan Callahan was swimming Sunday in an area known as Boiling Pots when she was swept away by a river current. Since then, fire and rescue crews have conducted an extensive ground and aerial search of the Wailuku River.

Teams found Callahan's body Thursday afternoon in the Boiling Pots area.

Officials ordered an autopsy to determine how she died.

Callahan is originally from Salt Lake City. She had recently moved to Hilo, and her family said she was not familiar with the area.
