4.7 Quake Shakes Big Island

An earthquake jolted parts of the island of Hawaii Wednesday afternoon.

A magnitude 4.7 earthquake shook the area from Ka'u to Puna at about 4:05 p.m.

The tremor was centered about 10 miles offshore of Na'alehu and about 25 miles underground.

There were no reports of major damage or injuries and no destructive tsunami was generated.
