HONOLULU -- Mayor Mufi Hannemann said he will veto the City Council's bill that would ban acts from Kalakaua Avenue sidewalks in Waikiki from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.Some people have complained that the performances cause safety hazards by attracting large crowds forcing some pedestrians into the street.Hannemann said he has an alternate proposal, one that would allow six performers at a time within a four-block area along Kalakaua Avenue.Performers would have to apply for a license and spots would be rotated. Permits are expected to cost $50 a year.
