One of two stars of ABC's hit TV series "Lost," who was arrested on DUI charges in Kailua this week, could go to prison in California because of the arrest. Michelle Rodriguez also had a bench warrant for her arrest here and had racked up three speeding tickets on Oahu since August, KITV has learned.

Rodriguez plays a tough former Los Angeles cop on "Lost." People Magazine reports she pleaded no contest to three misdemeanors in Los Angeles last year, including a DUI and hit-and-run.

She was sentenced to probation and a monthlong alcohol program. A spokesman for the Los Angeles city attorney said because of her DUI arrest in Kailua this week, her probation could be revoked, and she could go to prison in California.

Rodriguez was ticketed in October for driving 90 mph in a 35 mph zone in Haleiwa. Records show she also did not have auto insurance. When she failed to show up for a court hearing, a judge issued a bench warrant for her arrest last month.

Late Wednesday night, Honolulu police arrested Rodriguez and fellow "Lost" star Cynthia Watros, 37, for driving under the influence. They were stopped along Kalanianaole Highway near the entrance to Maunawili in Kailua after their cars were seen weaving on the Pali Highway, according to police. Police said they failed field sobriety tests.

"It could have been a lot worse. In some ways, it's a gift. We hope it's a wake-up call," said Carol McNamee, of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

McNamee is the founder of the Hawaii chapter of MADD.

"It could happen to anyone if we don't take responsibility and if we don't think ahead of time about the fact that we're going to a party or we're going to a restaurant or we're going somewhere where alcohol will be served," McNamee said.

Spokespeople for ABC and the two actresses declined to comment.
