Man To Be Charged For Beating Pregnant Ex-Girlfriend

Woman Is Brain-Dead In Hospital

The Big Island man accused of brutally beating of his pregnant ex-girlfriend is expected to be charged for attempted murder on Wednesday.

Sources tell KITV 4 News she is now brain-dead, and doctors are keeping her on life support to save her unborn child.

Police said Sarah Fey, 34, was attacked by Marwan Jackson on Friday at her home at the Fern Acres subdivision in Puna.

Detectives said she was severely beaten and taken to queen's medical center in very critical

"We spoke with neighbors in this community," said Officer T. Randall Medieros. "They're shocked, surprised, and weren't familiar with the victim. She had recently moved into the area but it's a quiet subdivision for the most part."

"I've never seen anything out of the unusual as far as domestic violence …I'm up and down this road every day," said neighbor Frank Battaglia.

Sources said fey had a temporary restraining order against Jackson.

Police want to talk with anyone who saw Fey or Jackson that day and about a history of violence between the two.
