Commander Waddle's Address To Media

Yesterday was the first time I was prepared to exit the court room to make a statement and the media didn't ask me how I was doing.

I think it is important for the families of Japan know that the statement that I gave to Terry Mcallister of "Time Magazine" a few weeks ago regarding my final act in command is helping the families get closure and help determine to seek the truth.

I think we made a significant step forward yesterday. The ship's navigator Lt. Keith Sloan, Electronic Technician First Class Lieutenant Glenn Carpenter and Electrionic Technician Third Class Dustin Runner provided testimony that I think was very important. It made me very proud.

In keeping with the tradition of the Greeneville which was to uphold what I consider the highest standards. These gentlemen told the truth and I think in the end will help achieve that objective.
