Stealth Bomber Engineer Faces More Spy Charges

POSTED: 3:58 pm HST November 8, 2005

A Maui engineer who helped develop the stealth bomber faces more espionage charges.

Federal authorities arrested Noshir Gowadia last month after he admitted giving classified information about the B-2 stealth bomber to several foreign countries.

He was trying to sell his own version of the B-2's propulsion system, officials said.

An indictment filed on Tuesday said he sent some of the information overseas in e-mails. The new charges increase the possible penalties against Gowadia.

He now faces up to 10 years in prison and $1 million in fines. The government is also trying to seize his luxury home on Maui.
