Five people were inducted into the Hawaii Waterman Hall of Fame Thursday as part of the Duke's OceanFest.

The award honors those who have contributed to the water sports community and perpetuated the love of the ocean. The inductees are Randy Rarick, a Triple Crown Surf Competition organizer and well-known body surfer Mark Cunningham.
The other three inductees are George Center, Anona Napoleon and Sonny Tanabe.
"You have to be living in Duke's aloha, really sharing his spirit of hospitality and being an individual that's an exemplary in your field of endeavor," said Chris Colgate of Duke's OceanFest.
The hall of fame dinner was held at the Outrigger Canoe Club.
Net proceeds will support college scholarships and athletic grants awarded to Hawaii residents.
