2005 HONOLULU -- Earlier this week, a naked woman jumped on the hood of her rental car as a thief tried to drive away with it. On Friday, a suspect appeared in court and more details were released about the crime.Lanaki Adric is charged with robbery in the first degree.On Monday morning, he allegedly went into a tent on Mokuleia Beach, where a couple from Washington state was camping, and stole a number of items, including a camera and the keys to a car, according to court documents.The victim, who was naked at the time, said she was walking back to her tent when she saw Adric running. She noticed that some of her personal belongings were missing from her tent. Police said when she saw him trying to drive away in her rental car, she ran for the car and jumped on the hood.Adric repeatedly swerved trying to get the woman off the car, according to witnesses.When he was unable to shake her off the hood, he stopped, got out of the car, picked her up off the hood, put her down and got back in and started to drive away again, court documents said. She then grabbed onto the driver's-side door, but Adric allegedly continued to drive, dragging her. She eventually let go and had to be treated for minor cuts and bruises.The woman is a tourist from Washington state.The stolen car was found abandoned nearby in a field after a witness chased after the thief.An officer noticed a car near the scene of the theft. They tracked down the owner of the car, who told police that he had lent the car to a friend, Adric.The victim picked Adric out of a photo lineup.Adric's bail is $50,000. Previous Story:
