2005 HONOLULU -- A new poll conducted for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs shows the majority of people who live in Hawaii support the Native Hawaiian Recognition Act.OHA released its poll results Monday at Iolani Palace. Dozens of people gathered to show their support for the so-called Akaka Bill.Researchers asked 400 Native Hawaiians and non-Hawaiians five questions. The poll showed about two-thirds of the people surveyed support the Akaka Bill, according to OHA officials. (Read the results of the survey.)"People have said, 'Eh, they're not Hawaiian enough. How can?' And some said, 'Well, they should include other groups.' But, there is only one group that is indigenous, and that's the Hawaiians," U.S. Sen.
