Campbell Estate Dealt Legal Blow

Jim Dooley Investigates

Trustees of a massive Hawaii estate are under fire...again. However, it is not the Bishop Estate. It is another huge Hawaii landowner, the Campbell Estate.

But this controversy is being played out in secret, behind courtroom doors that are sealed to the public.

The Campbell Estate owns and its trustees control more than $2 billion dollars in assets, including about 60,000 acres of land in Hawaii. It is the moving force behind Kapolei, the so-called second city of Oahu.

But the estate must shut down in six years, with the assets being distributed among the descendants of James Campbell.

KITV4 News reporter Jim Dooley investigates the legal troubles of one of Oahu's biggest landowners.
