The wife of an army soldier said she's a victim of harassment and excessive force after she was handcuffed and arrested unnecessarily by military police. A neighbor caught the incident on tape.

Yashica Boyd showed KITV 4 News the cuts and bruises she received when she said she was unnecessarily arrested in front of her home on Gardenia Loop at Aliamanu Military Reservation Housing Monday morning.

A neighbor videotaped the incident.

It began when the son of a friend of Boyd's asked to use her phone to call his parents after Military Police wanted to talk with him about an incident earlier that morning. Boyd said the MPs accused her of harboring the teen and impeding with the investigation.

That is when things got tense. MPs forced her to the ground and handcuffed her.

It is not the first time Boyd said she's been harassed while her husband was away serving in Afghanistan.

"I'm just getting sick and tired of them always doing stuff and getting away with it. Like, we're military. My husband is over there fighting a war," Boyd said.

Neighbor Lonna Carey said she grabbed her video camera to document what she said is a chronic problem with military police in Hawaii.

"I knew what was going to happen because every time they come out here something always happens cause someone is always stepping over their authority," Carey said.

Military officials viewed the tape at KITV 4 Wednesday afternoon.

"We don't see what led up to the video being turned on, but having viewed the video, it's apparent to us that the MPs were acting within reason," U.S. Army public information officer Capt. Juanita Chang said.

The military said it will not press charges, but continues to investigate this incident.

Boyd said she will be filing an official complaint.
