Police: College Student Gang Raped In ManoaIncident Is 2nd Manoa Sex Assault In 1 WeekPOSTED: 5:30 pm HST March 30, 2005 HONOLULU -- An 18-year-old Kapiolani Community College student told police she was gang raped after leaving a restaurant near the University of Hawaii at Manoa. It's the second kidnapping and sexual assault reported in Manoa in a week.It happened Monday night just after 9 p.m. The woman said she left Volcano Joe's restaurant and was walking home when five men forced her into their car. The woman said she was driven to a park and sexually assaulted by the group.Later, she was dropped off at Hale Aloha dormitory near the East-West Center at UH Manoa."I'm sure that everybody is kind of shocked about this one happens and then another. I'm not sure where it's going to end," said James Harwood of the Manoa Neighborhood Board.

Eventually he told the woman to stop at Manoa District Park, where he sexually assaulted her then forced her to get money from her ATM machine, the documents said."The victims were just doing what we all do. And this just happened and we all need to go from here and make sure it doesn't happen to us," Harwood said.Shannon Kalahiki, 24, was arrested and charged with sexual assault in the first case. He's currently at Oahu Community Correctional Center awaiting trial.The five suspects in this most recent case are all described as Caucasian men in their 20s.
