The Cape Flattery ran aground 400 yards off Barbers Point Harbor.
Coast Guard teams are trying to help the crew of the 555-foot Cape Flattery ship.

It happened about 400 yards off Barbers Point Harbor at 7 a.m. No one was injured.

An attorney representing the ship's insurance company said the vessel ran around during heavy rains Wednesday morning, about the same time a waterspout was spotted in the area.

The Coast Guard is monitoring the situation.

The Cape Flattery was scheduled to offload cement. The load was headed for Hawaiian Cement. The company president said the delay will not affect its operations.
