Former Beauty Queen To Face Trial On Drug Charges

POSTED: 4:09 pm HST September 20, 2004

Former beauty queen Tiffini Hercules and her husband John Limahai Jr. were both bound over for trial on drug charges Monday.

Hercules was Miss Hawaii USA in 1998. She told the court Monday she is now going by the name Tiffini Limahai. She is charged with a felony drug count that could send her to prison for 10 years.

In court, she waived a preliminary hearing, which means she will automatically be bound over for trial.

John Limahai Jr. did have a preliminary hearing Monday. A police officer testified he found a small amount of crystal methamphetamine, and a straw in a waist pack Limahai was wearing. He faces up to five years on two charges. He was also bound over for trial.
