2004 HONOLULU -- A former Hawaii beauty queen made her first court appearance Thursday on drug charges. Tiffini Hercules (pictured, right) is charged with unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and promoting a dangerous drug.Police said they found crystal methamphetamine in her purse when she was arrested.Officers arrested Hercules and her husband, John Limahai Jr., early Tuesday morning in connection with a drug raid at a Kailua home.Limahai also appeared in court Thursday, on similar drug charges. His attorneys said the couple needs help."At this point it looks like the amount of drugs are the user type amount, or the allegations," Limahai's attorney, Victor Bakke, said."We're happy it's in the state court. We think we can work with the judges, we can work with the prosecutor's office, work with all the resources that are available to turn these people's lives around," Limahai's attorney, Paul Cunney, said.Hercules was Miss Hawaii USA in 1998.She and her husband remain in custody.
