Sen. Akaka To Undergo Ankle Surgery

HONOLULU -- U.S. Sen. Daniel Akaka will be out of commission for a while due to an injury suffered on the golf course.A ball struck the senator on the upper ankle during a charity tournament last month.The injury later became infected and now the 79-year-old senator needs a skin graft.After surgery Thursday, Akaka's office said he will need three to four weeks at home to heal.
