2 Schofield Soldiers Killed In Mideast Duty

HONOLULU -- Two soldiers from Schofield Barracks were killed in the Middle East over the weekend.Reports said one Schofield soldier was killed Sunday near Kirkuk, Iraq, while on patrol.
Officials said an explosive device went off and the convoy was shot at. The soldier will not be identified until relatives are notified.The Department of Defense said Phillip Witkowski, 24, from Schofield Barracks died on Saturday from non-combat related injuries.The military is investigating the incident.Both soldiers were from the 25th Infantry Division from Schofield Barracks.
