Unsure of what to do with your old phone books from past years?

One alternative is to think yellow and go green.

For the next four weekends, large yellow bins are set-up at convenient drop-off locations around the island.

Those drop-off locations include:

Ward Centers: next to the Trolley Stop on Auahi Street, outside of Pictures Plus. Windward Mall: on Haiku Road near the Kamehameha Highway intersection, on the corner of the lot between Macy's and Sears. Kahala Mall: near the Trolley Stop on Kilauea Ave., across from Macy's. Town Center of Mililani: behind Consolidated Theaters next to Tesoro Gas Express, near the Reynolds

The drop-offs will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. until February 12, 2012.

To arrange for a bulk pick up, please call (808) 833-2018

The Hawaiian Telcom Yellow Pages partnered with its publisher, Berry, for their annual phonebook recycling campaign.

Kehaulani Takenishi, manager of Berry Publising, said the partnership to help recycle came naturally. "We put books in over 500,000 homes each year. When new books come out we know that you need to do something with the old books and not every recycling center is able to process it properly," said Takenishi. "So we partnered with H-power to make sure it is used for a good process."

Once the bins are filled, West Oahu Aggregate will transport the phone books to the power plant to be recycled.

If you would like to stop receiving physical phone books altogether, just opt out by going to www.yellowpagesoptout.com
