Longtime Hawaii Newsman Jack Kellner Dies

Longtime Hawaii television newsman Jack Kellner died Wednesday night in California.

Kellner retired in 1999 after 20 years at KHON-TV.

Before that, he worked at KGMB and before that in radio at KHVH and KPOI, where he was a "Poi Boy" in the 1960s.

Kellner was also the voice of Oahu Civil Defense.

Kellner died of lung cancer at his home in Sonoma, California.

He is survived by his wife, two children, five grandchildren and a sister.

Kellner was 75 years old.
