Maui County police say a Kihei man and two juvenile males were arrested after a deadly assault at Kalama Park in Kihei on March 15.
On that Saturday at around 9:40 p.m., an officer was flagged down by a man saying there was a fight going on in the park and a man was badly beaten.
The officers found the 44-year-old man near a pavilion by the skate rink laying unconscious on the ground and suffering from multiple injuries, according to police.
The man was transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition.
On April 11, the victim died. He was identified as Michael Phillip Gray, also known as "Smiley."
The incident was re-classified from an attempted murder case to a second-degree murder case.
