$32 Million Earmarked For Green Energy Work

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Millions of federal dollars could be on the way to Hawaii.The U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations recently approved a measure that includes $32 million for 19 energy and water projects in the state.The projects would involve sustainable energy research and development, flood control and bioenergy.Hawaii Sen. Dan Inouye said the state is too dependent on imported oil. He said the funding will help the islands get “greener” with more clean and renewable sources of energy.The bill now goes before the full Senate.
