More than 20 teams set out on Kaneohe Bay Saturday to see who could catch the biggest papio. The 2nd Annual Lanakila Meals on Wheels Papio Tournament raised money to provide hot meals to homebound seniors.

Winning teams got up to $5,000 in cash prizes.

The fishing was good, with lots of fishermen coming to weigh their catch.

“We're so appreciative of all the people that are supporting us here today. This money will help us continue our mission of serving our seniors who are home bound with no one to take care of them, in terms of getting a meal to them. It's a great day for us. And we're excited when the fish come in, and see what we have,” said Toni Fegers of Meals on Wheels.

Fishermen don't need an excuse to go fishing, so when it was for a good cause that was an added bonus.

“Oh yeah, that was the big thing, helping the elders. When we first heard about it told my friend about it and said 'Go for it.’ Have some fun. If we hit 'em we hit 'em. If not, it's a day in the ocean, so it's good,” said fisherman Wendell Domingo.
