Neighborhood Trolley (Manoa/Kaimuki/Kapahulu/Waikiki)

Jitney Proposal: The jitney proposal would involve using taxicabs to run along eight bus routes between Waipahu and Waikiki.

Instead of a bus picking up passengers at a bus stop, a jitney would act as a taxicab. The stops would run along popular routes, including runs from the University of Hawaii to Ala Moana Center to Waipahu. However, even the estimated 100 taxis won't completely replace TheBus system.

It also will cost more. If you catcg a jitney, the driver will charge you $3 no matter how long the ride.
