HONOLULU -- John and Julieanne Dimitrion plead guilty in April 2009 to operating a foreclosure fraud scheme that led to people losing their homes. The once smiling faces of local mortgage company, Mortgage Alliance, they admitted to setting up a fake buyer and mortgages that took the titles from homeowners. The FBI says instead of investing the money like they promised their clients, they spent it on their own lavish lifestyle."The Dimitrions were people who were fueled by greed," said Tom Simon, FBI special agent. "It's not enough for them to be rich. What's important to them is everybody knows they're rich. They had matching maseratis, expensive clothing, fancy watches and jewelry. They never ate anywhere but the finest restaurants on Oahu."The couple was last seen by witnesses at church services at the Mililani Recreation Center Friday night.Their last known address was on Moaniala Street on Hawaii Loa Ridge. The FBI said they abandoned their car and there is no record of them leaving Oahu by plane."We've found no evidence that they've gotten on a plane leaving Oahu under their own names," said Simon. "Now, you don't have to be James Bond to leave Hawaii, but at this point we're just focusing our fugitive manhunt on the state of Hawaii."The FBI suspects they are being hidden on Oahu by friends or family members. Julieanne Dimitrion's lawyer said he spoke to his client last week and there was no indication she nor her husband had plans to do anything drastic."The concern that everyone has is that they may have become so depressed and so despondent at the prospect of going to prison that they've done something to injure themselves. A suicide pact, which would be terrible," said attorney Myles Breiner. The Dimitrions were each facing up to 30 years in prison, but they were likely going to receive much lighter sentences, between 2 and 5 years.John Dimitrion is 34 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is known to have expensive tastes in sports cars, clothing and jewelry. He is an enthusiast for high-end personal electronics and has a massive collection of Airsoft replica firearms.Julienne Dimitrion is 32 years old, 4 feet 11 inches tall, 150 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She is also known to enjoy the material trappings of the ultra-rich. During the fraud investigation, the FBI noted that she spent tens of thousands of dollars on lingerie from expensive boutiques and actually sought to declare this lingerie as a "business expense" on her taxes. At the time of her arrest on the original fraud charges, the FBI discovered closets filled to capacity with designer purses and shoes. The FBI is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to their arrests. Anyone recognizing the couple or having information on their current location is asked to call the Honolulu FBI at (808) 566-4300.
