HONOLULU -- A couple of tweet hearts tied the knot at Kakaako Waterfront Park Wednesday.The techno-savvy cuties tweeted the invitation to their very public and potluck wedding.Ed White asked Dallas Nagata to be his wife and then asked Twitter friends to come celebrate with them The couple met in person first, and thanks to technology the relationship blossomed.“It was from a tweet up actually. Hawaii's Twitter community and social media in general is so good about getting people together and introducing and networking. At one of these events we just happened to meet each other,” said Dallas Nagata White.“You get to meet people you have something in common with -- some more than others,” said Ed White.About 75 people attended the gathering at the open air amphitheater for the sunset wedding. Friends of friends helped to live stream the affair so the groom’s family across the mainland could share in the couple’s special day.The bride’s father and mother walked her down the sidewalk to the open air amphitheater where the couple exchanged vows.Guests tweeted before during and after the nuptials.The potluck that followed included everything from Liliha Bakery cakes to home-baked ham to Kentucky Fried Chicken.Many guests who were friends on line were finally able to mingle and meet in person at the informal wedding ceremony and reception.“I have known them on Twitter for a long time, but this is the first time I am meeting them face to face,” said Ed Morita, a guest at the party.Morita shares the couple’s passion for photography and was on hand with scores of other shutterbugs documenting the party from start to finish.An official honeymoon for the new Mr. and Mrs. White will have to wait for a while. The groom is a sergeant in the Army and ships out to Afghanistan in a few days.
