Award-winning songwriter Roslyn Catracchia says her prayers have been answered. Honolulu police recovered her stolen computers Thursday and they still contained her prized compositions.Police called Catracchia Thursday afternoon to inform her that they recovered two computers and a hard drive. Catracchia rushed to the Honolulu Police Department, where she identified the computers, but before she headed home she rushed to an outlet in the HPD parking to plug in her computer. She was elated to find a computer screen filled with her music. “It’s there. It’s all there. Look! It’s a miracle,” Catracchia said.Catracchia and her mother returned from church Sunday to find their Aina Haina home burglarized and ransacked. It was the second time burglars had hit their home in three months and the 16th time since 1966."My mother and I have learned not to get attached to things, but when they stole my computers and all my work, it was traumatic,” Catracchia said.Police would not reveal who returned the computers and did not provide details because the investigation is still under way and they have not yet made any arrests. Catracchia could only say the person who returned the computers saw her story on KITV4.Catracchia made a public plea, asking for the return of her computers no questions asked. Her friends and the community rallied around her and raised more than $500 in reward money for the safe return of Catracchia’s work.Catracchia said she is extremely grateful to police, the community and the person who returned the computers. “I’m celebrating Christmas on Easter,” she said.Catracchia plans to duplicate her work so this never happens again. She and her mother are having a security system installed in their home on Friday.
