The Aloha Stadium debuted its drive-in movie night before an estimated crowd of three to four hundred people. The double feature of “Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs,” and “The Land of the Lost,” is part of a plan to generate more revenue and goodwill particularly with part of the stadium closed for repairs.“We are not able to use the inside as much as we would like to and we thought we would get together to try something new, and this is one of them and it looks like it's taking some shape of its own and I happy with the participation,” said Scott Chan, Aloha Stadium Manager.Chan says the plan is to offer about a half a dozen other movie viewing opportunities through this summer. The movies and marketplace event features select swap meet vendors that are set up from 11 A.M. to 6 P.M. The movies start at dusk and motorists can either stay in their cars or bring out their beach chairs to watch the films. Movie goers are urged to bring in FM radios to hear the audio in order to avoid draining car batteries. No one knew what to expect for this first time event.“I am not sure.. I wanted to experience a drive in movie and I wanted to take my kids, said Roger Hatzky, father of two.Vendors had popcorn, hot dogs, and ice cream for sale. Many families brought in their own food. Admission is $1. Children under 11 are free.
