HONOLULU -- The Maui Police Department identified a man killed in a crash in Kahului on Thursday morning as an Idaho resident.Nathaniel Alters, 28, of Star, Idaho, was walking on a roadway in Lahaina died after he was struck by a van, police said.The incident happened at about 12:30 a.m. on Honoapiilani Highway near Keawe Street.Police said the driver of the van was not injured.The cause of the crash is under investigation.
