The organization "Save Our Schools" wants the governor to release funds for furlough Fridays as soon as they become available through legislative bills.

But Gov. Linda Lingle doesn't want to just fix furloughs. She said an overhaul of the whole educational system is needed.

"Just dealing with furloughs won't solve the problem of our failing educational system and that's what we need to address in the long term," Lingle said.

Students have another four furlough days this year, along with many more slated for the next school session.
