State Sen. Colleen Hanabusa Files Nomination Papers

Special Election To Be Held May 22

State Sen. Colleen Hanabusa formally filed nomination papers Wednesday morning to run for the First Congressional District in a special election.

Hanabusa wants to finish the remainder of Neil Abercrombie's term, which ends in January. Abercrombie resigned to run for governor.

The winner take all special election is set for May 22.

Former congressman Ed Case is running against Hanabusa.

Honolulu City Councilman Charles Djou is expected to formally file his papers next week.
